I got quite the laugh this morning while reading the local newspaper.
It seems that some Boise city residents are upset about the new proposed fire stations. Some of the concerns are legitimate – safety of children on the street near the new station, the amount of traffic on the roads, etc.
However, there was one quote that just made my day:
“Lights from the fire engines will shine directly on (our) home as they leave their driveway.”
Yelp.
You read that right. The number one biggest reason NOT to have a fire station near your home is that the lights from the fire engine would shine on your home. Not that they would shine INTO your home – but ON your home.
Forget the fact that – oh..hmm…maybe you could buy some curtains? Or some shades?
Oh – how about the fact that if your house – the one that could be hurt by the shiny lights – ever caught on fire, you would have the fastest response rate in the entire city?
Ah. Sorry. I forgot.
The lights from the fire engines would shine on your home…
